Join us for the Larkhall Open Studios Art Trail
30th April - 2nd May 2016
This year’s event promises to be very exciting indeed! Established members of the group have been working on new work and in some cases they have taken a departure from their previous style. Painter Richard Olver has adopted a more abstract approach to his work and 10% of the proceeds of sales on all paintings sold go to both the the RUH Cancer Centre and continued support from the Red Cross supporting Ebola victims in Sierra Leone. A host of new members will also be opening up their studios this year.
Following on from a recent exhibition at 44AD, Anna Gahlin’s sensitive and evocative paintings celebrating ‘the joy of colour for its own sake’ can be seen. Alison Redman, contemporary jewellery designer/maker, has recently opened up her new studio in Fairfield Park. Alison creates unusual modern wearable jewellery. Visit Alison during the May weekend to find out more about her work and workshops.
Tom Overment's and Natalie Williams’ contemporary urban art and recent oil paintings can be enjoyed along with refreshments and a walk around their open garden. Vicky Sander has been creating seductive underwater automated mermaids and glorious textiles. Jonathan Davies’ paintings capture the haunting beauty of the skyline surrounding Bath during the Autumn and Winter months when the light on the landscape is at its most dramatic. Jonathan has previously been selected for the Royal West of England Academy Autumn Show.
Bath Artist Printmakers are delighted to confirm that they have secured a further 3 years in Larkhall, a great reason to to go along and enjoy some demonstrations and even sign up for a course!
This is just a snapshot of the wealth of talent in our lovely corner of Bath. You can pick up a copy of the this year's Art Trail brochure at shops and galleries in Larkhall, Bath city centre and surrounding areas. You can also download a PDF of the brochure here or from the link below.
